Menopause

Inner West Women’s Health provides comprehensive assessment, advice and treatment options for women approaching or experiencing menopause.

This life change can present many challenges managing sleep, increased anxiety and hot flushes as well as changes in sexual function and desire.

Women will now, on average, spend more than 30 years being “postmenopausal” so it is really important that the specific issues of this stage are explained and addressed for each individual. These can include bone density, heart health as well as emotional wellbeing, vaginal and urinary issues.

Our doctors are members of the Australasian Menopause Society and are up to date with recent advances in menopause management options; including menopause hormone therapy (HRT), as well as many non-hormonal options.

Please note: We do not provide “bio-identical hormone therapy”, as medical evidence does not support its safety or effectiveness. However, the modern versions of menopause hormone therapy all use “body-identical hormones” as these are safer and more effective than older medications. We realise these names can be confusing!
