Endometriosis & Pelvic Pain Clinic
Leichhardt General Practice and Inner West Women’s Health are one of seven clinics in NSW, and 22 in Australia, to be named as an Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Centre. This Federal funding will allow us to reduce the wait time from presentation to diagnosis, and improve pain management and outcomes.
Our doctors and nurses have been busy upskilling in the latest research and clinical practice guidelines for endometriosis and pelvic pain and we are ready to go!

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month. There has been a new medication recently approved for use in Australia for medical management of endometriosis. This medication is a combination of 3 different hormonal preparations which can powerfully suppress endometriosis with less side-effects than some of the older medications. The new medication also provides contraception and should reduce period bleeding. It is available under the trade name Ryeqo.
Heavy periods affect many women and it may be lifechanging to read about your options to manage them.
Endometriosis is common and often under-recognised. Getting a “working diagnosis” early and setting up a good care “team”, as well as empowerment with self-care strategies, can be life-changing.
